Jamie was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Wilmington, DE. He majored in psychology at Swarthmore College and received his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice. Jamie has worked with children and teens as a therapist in schools and counseling centers. He has also led groups and workshops where teens develop listening skills they can use to support each other, and discuss social justice issues that affect their lives. Jamie loves how the Sudbury model makes space for children and teens of all ages to be treated as full human beings who are deserving of respect. He believes it is so powerful to see how creative, thoughtful, and hopeful students can be when their school supports them to pursue their passions and be themselves.
